Product Description
Green Hydrogen Electrolysis Feed Water Veolia E-Cell MK-9 Suez EDI Stacks 8.0 M3/H High Flow EDI Module
Electrolyzer stacks are unforgiving about feed water: dissolved cations and anions poison the membranes, while organic carbon degrades catalyst performance. Green hydrogen projects therefore specify ultrapure water with resistivity above 16 MOhm-cm and very low TOC before the water enters the electrolysis loop. The Veolia E-Cell MK-9 Suez EDI stack delivers that quality at a nominal 8.0 m3/h, making it a natural building block for megawatt-scale PEM and alkaline electrolysis plants.
The MK-9 is the highest capacity member of the E-Cell family in this range, engineered for continuous industrial duty with recovery of up to 97%. Because electrodeionization replaces mixed-bed polishing, hydrogen plants avoid the logistics of acid and caustic deliveries on remote sites and cut the wastewater that a chemical regeneration process would produce.
Key Features- High capacity output: produces 8.0 m3/h nominal with a typical designed production window of 6.0 to 10.0 m3/h, matching the water demand of large electrolyzer trains.
- Ultrapure product quality: delivers resistivity of at least 16 MOhm-cm with TOC below 0.5 ppm, protecting electrolyzer membranes from ionic and organic fouling.
- Up to 97% recovery: maximizes RO permeate utilization, an important factor for electrolysis sites in arid regions or where water permits are limited.
- Chemical-free polishing: no acid and caustic regeneration means smaller footprint, no hazardous chemical storage and lower operating staff requirements.
- Continuous unattended duty: the stack regenerates electrically and runs steadily, aligning with the high utilization targets of green hydrogen assets.
- Proven industrial platform: built on the E-Cell plate-and-frame platform with CE, RoHS, CSA and EAC markings and ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 manufacturing.
- Low energy per cubic meter: E-Cell technology keeps power consumption low, directly improving the overall electrical efficiency of the hydrogen plant.

Green hydrogen projects install MK-9 stacks in the ultrapure water block between reverse osmosis and the electrolyzer feed tank. The combination of high resistivity and low TOC protects PEM electrolyzer membranes, while the 6.0 to 10.0 m3/h operating window suits containerized hydrogen plants and larger central utility blocks.
The same stack serves power-to-X demonstration units, hydrogen refueling station water systems and ammonia or methanol synthesis pilots where guaranteed water purity is a condition for long membrane life. Multiple stacks are paralleled to reach the 50 to 200 m3/h water blocks typical of commercial electrolysis facilities.
Packaging & Quality AssuranceMK-9 stacks ship in export-grade wooden crates with internal shock protection, accompanied by the factory performance certificate, dimensional drawings and installation manual. Standard stock delivery takes 5-8 working days, with project-based scheduling available for large multi-stack orders.
Our team supports hydrogen developers with system sizing, Winflows projection checks and startup assistance. Share your electrolyzer capacity, site water analysis and target feed quality, and we will propose the complete EDI polishing configuration with a firm quotation.
