1. Working principle of EDI module

EDI (Electrodeionization) is a high-tech water purification method combining electrodialysis and ion exchange. It uses electricity (DC) to pull dissolved ions (salts) in water through specialized membranes, concentrating and removing them in a separate stream while continuously producing ultra-pure water. Key advantages include no need for chemical regeneration (acid/alkali), continuous operation, and minimal operator oversight. Capable of producing highly purified water (5-18 MΩ.cm resistivity), EDI is increasingly replacing traditional mixed-bed systems in industries like pharmaceuticals, electronics, power generation, and chemicals due to its reliability, ease of use, and significant environmental benefits (eliminating chemical waste).
